Using this website
This website provides general information about Skylight Roof Repairs Limited, its roofing and building services, service areas and contact routes. Content is intended to help customers understand available services and does not by itself create a contract or guarantee that a particular job, date, price or response time is available.
Customers should not rely on website information as a substitute for a property-specific inspection or professional assessment where one is required.
Quotes, scope and variations
A website enquiry is a request to discuss work; it is not acceptance of a job. Any quotation, scope, start date, payment schedule, materials, exclusions and project-specific terms should be confirmed separately. If conditions discovered after work begins materially change the required scope, Skylight should discuss the variation and any price impact before additional work proceeds where reasonably practicable.
Online content does not override the terms of a written quotation or contract. Where there is a conflict, the project-specific written agreement should take priority.
Emergency call-outs
Skylight advertises a 24-hour emergency roofing call-out service. Availability, attendance time and the work that can safely be completed during an emergency depend on location, weather, access, workload and the nature of the defect. Calling is the recommended route for an active leak or urgent roof failure.
Customer responsibilities
Customers should provide accurate property and contact information, disclose relevant access or safety issues, and ensure Skylight has reasonable access to the agreed work area. Where permissions, landlord consent, planning permission, party-wall matters or other approvals are the customer’s responsibility, these should be addressed before work where applicable unless the written project agreement states otherwise.
Workmanship and guarantees
Skylight’s stated workmanship commitment is that if a problem is caused by work Skylight carried out incorrectly or ineffectively, the team will return and put it right. The appropriate remedy depends on the original scope and cause of the problem. This does not cover unrelated defects, later damage, misuse, third-party work, exceptional events or deterioration outside the work Skylight actually carried out.
The £1,000 Checkatrade guarantee is a separate Checkatrade scheme for eligible work and is subject to Checkatrade’s own current terms and eligibility requirements. Any manufacturer or material warranty is subject to the relevant supplier’s conditions.
Payments and cancellations
Prices, deposits, staged payments, final payment dates and any cancellation arrangements should be set out in the quotation or project agreement for the individual job. Nothing on this page removes statutory consumer rights that apply under UK law.
Website accuracy and liability
Skylight aims to keep website information accurate, but services, availability, review counts, third-party information and external links can change. Skylight is not responsible for the content or availability of third-party websites such as Checkatrade or WhatsApp.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the website design, written content and original media are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. The website may not be copied or republished for commercial use without permission.
Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales. Consumers may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable consumer law.
